Sandra's Pick of the Month for October

The gallery is always filled with a great variety of artwork. At the beginning of every month, I will be posting images and information about Sandra's Pick of the Month, whether it is an exciting new work, or a hidden gem.

This month, Sandra picked Anna Kaye's 2011 Time Lapse Video, which will be shown in the upcoming show with Lorelei Schott, "Touch the Earth." In 2010, Anna created a time-lapse video of the new spring/summer growth in the devastating 2002 Hayman fire area. Click here to watch the renewed growth on the forest floor in her 2010 videos!

Sandra said, this is her pick because she vividly remembers the devastation and tragedy of the Hayman fire which destroyed thousands of acres of forest life. Anna's video portrays new growth, hope and possibility.

Here are a few previews/photos from her 2011 time lapse videos!

"In one of the new time lapse videos, the camera captures a chipmunk jumping over the equipment," Anna said.

Anna also spoke of how more vegetation sprouted up from heavy summer rain showers and both videos capture grazing cattle.

I hope this preview influences you to stop in to see Anna's new video, as well her beautiful detailed drawings. Anna Kayes work makes me reflect on the importance of our ever changing world, and how profound the subtle changes in nature are that may generally be overlooked.

Hope you have a chance to come and experience Lorelei Schott and Anna Kaye in "Touch the Earth" opening night October 6th up through November 19th.

Leave a comment about what you think of our new blog!
